Responsibilities

• Develop and implement holistic risk strategy and frameworks in line with Group's risk appetite and ambitions. Stay abreast of market trends, group requirements and best practices, changes in regulations and emerging risks to ensure appropriateness of frameworks.
• Provide strong leadership to the Market Risk, Credit Risk, and Quantitative Risk teams. Foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing among team members and across the organization.
• Actively foster the Data Driven Business at EEM and establish a cross CFRO Data Team (tbc)
• Coordinate materials for Market Committees and communicate risk profiles, and recommended actions effectively to facilitate informed decision-making. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to address risk-related inquiries and maintain strong relationships.
• Oversee the development and enhancement of risk assessment methodologies, pricing models, and metrics.
• Lead implementation of consistent risk framework and modelling across the regions through strong functional steering.
• Monitor risk limits and triggers and take appropriate actions to manage potential exposures.
• Collaborate with the trading, IT, and business operations teams to build meaningful risk reporting and controls.

Requirements

• Wide experience in risk management in the energy or commodity industry. Ability to establish risk appetite and implement effective risk management frameworks.
• Deep understanding of trading and portfolio management and advocate of active, value creating risk management.
• Track record of leading and managing (risk management) teams, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
• Talented communicator, with the ability to effectively convey complex risk-related concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Structured approach to identify functions and departments in an organization, where digital tools and talent can have most impact.
